Descansa Magazine /001

Descansa Magazine is a design history publication that spotlights various design eras in each issue. This particular issue focuses on WPA posters from 1934 to 1943. For this project, I designed the cover and three layout spreads, aiming for a sophisticated yet bold presentation. To complement the vibrant red seen in many WPA posters, I incorporated pops of red throughout the layouts.

Taricha Infographic /002

This project entailed creating an informational poster about Rough-Skinned Newts. The objective was to design an inviting and easily comprehensible poster. Illustrations were incorporated to enhance comprehension through visual elements.

Ropa Vieja /003

Ropa Vieja is a lively Cuban restaurant that blends live entertainment with a fine dining experience. I aimed to capture the essence of Havana’s colorful buildings by incorporating a bright color palette with shades of orange and blue. This, combined with dynamic typography and shapes, reflects the lively and energetic atmosphere of the restaurant.

Triple Dog /004

Triple Dog is a Truth or Dare card game for young adults. This project focused on creating an engaging and welcoming packaging design and logo. I integrated dog illustrations into the logo to evoke a sense of playfulness, complemented by a soft serif font with subtle retro undertones.

Aiga Brochure /005

The goal of this project was to create an informational AIGA brochure intended for distribution to high school students. To enhance its appeal and create a more engaging experience, I incorporated an array of visual graphics and opted for a bold typeface to highlight titles and draw attention.

Going Underground /006

The objective of this project was to redesign the logo, incorporating a rendition of the original mascot. The vibrant orange from the original branding was integrated, complemented by shades of blue to enhance the overall design.

Thin Mints /007

Thin Mints is a company dedicated to creating specially crafted mints infused with herbal supplements to help boost metabolism. The aim was to design a logo that exudes elegance and refreshment, incorporating organic elements. I chose a soft serif font to impart a sophisticated, elevated appearance. The muted green hues were chosen to evoke a sense of tranquility and rejuvenation, embodying the refreshing and calming essence of Thin Mints.

CTB Album /008

CTB (City Teddy Bears) is an experimental hip-hop group debuting their first album, Life’s a Stitch. To reflect their innovative musical style, the goal was to convey this experimental nature on their album cover. Subtle textures and a threshold effect were used on imagery to reflect the gritty sounds of the album. I chose a vibrant color palette against a black background to evoke the feel of city lights at night.

Slow & Steady Skateboard /009

The goal of this project was to design a skateboard that combines aesthetic appeal with functionality. The objective was to create a visually striking and unique design that resonates with skateboard enthusiasts. Vibrant colors were used so the skateboard stands out while in use.

La Brea Tar Pits Poster /010

The aim of this poster was to showcase the extensive collection of preserved fossils at the La Brea Tar Pits. To achieve this, I made a custom display typeface that replicated the intricate appearance of fossil fragments. Additionally, I selected a vibrant color palette to grab the attention of passersby and draw them into the captivating world of paleontology.
